New Alert System for the Moreton Bay region
Moreton Bay Regional Council has adopted a new alerting warning system called "Moreton Alert". Moreton Alert provides warnings about dam releases from North Pine Dam, bush fires or possible flash flooding incidents. The new system will complement existing warnings issued by the Bureau of Meteorology and the State Government emergency service agencies.It is a free service to all Moreton Bay residents. The new system will be ready to be launched in the coming month, but you need to register your interest in participating now. The Moreton Alert
System. Will send out alerts about local potential disaster events via text and voice messages, e-mail or social media to local residents who are registered.
The alerts may be sent at anytime of the day or night. Council
Spokes person said they are mindful not to overwhelm residents with
messages. If you subscribe to Moreton Alert you agree to be notified by any of the following means - SMS, voice or email. It is your responsibility to inform the Council of any email, mobile phone, landline or relevant property address changes. Council will contact you further when the system has been implemented.
How much will it cost to receive a message? There is no cost to register. This is a free service for all residents of the Moreton Bay Region. REMEMBER YOU MUST REGISTER TO RECEIVE THE ALERT MESSAGES:
